Pleasant Plains volunteer firefighters responded to the fire at the North Pointe Hollow condominium complex at around 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said in a news release. Crews arrived and found a fire in the bathroom of a first-floor apartment.

There were no reported injuries and firefighters worked for about two hours to contain the fire. One unit was significantly impacted by the fire and only minor smoke spread to neighboring apartments.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire but it's believed to be accidental from a small electronic device charging in the bathroom. Officials also said the fire was challenging for crews because of "hoarding/storage conditions" in the apartment.

Silverton, East Dover, and Whitesville firefighters also responded to the scene.
